Our entire business model is based on trust and integrity. When a customer buys a rod or reel from us, we want them to know exactly what they are buying. That’s why we are so rigorous about inspecting and rating each item as we add it to our inventory. We understand that this can be frustrating when you are selling gear to Recast Fly Fishing, but we think you'll love it if you choose to purchase gear from us.

In our experience, less than 5% of the items we inspect qualify for a “Like New” gear rating. If you look at the items for sale on Recast Fly Fishing you will see many items listed as “Great” that have just one small thing preventing them from being listed as “Like New.” This is how seriously we take our rating of “Like New.” Most of our “Like New” items are sourced from overstocks, liquidations and estate collections, and have never been fished.

Of course. We provide detailed notes (and in most cases, pictures) that explain our reasons for changing the condition rating of your gear.

Absolutely not. We are going to sell the gear with the same rating that we assigned when we purchased it. In fact, when we add the item to our online inventory, you will see a detailed Gear Report with the same inspection notes that we shared with you when rating your gear.

If you accept the revised quote we will start processing your payment immediately. If you reject the revised quote, we will be happy to send your item back to you and we will look forward to doing business with you in the future.
